To complete the online form, you'll need the following items:
- POETRY CRITIQUE of “To Be Of Use” by Marge Piercy. [A link to the poem is available here.] Your critique should demonstrate a solid understanding of craft and analyze what poetic devices make the poem effective. Cite specific words, lines, passages, etc. accordingly. Note: This question does not ask why you personally do or do not like the poem, but instead asks that you evaluate it objectively and critically.
- LITERARY and/or ART SUBMISSION: Your submission(s) may be writing (short story, poem, etc.) or a work of art (illustration, painting, graphic design, etc.). If you are submitting writing, please submit a Word Document. If you are submitting artwork, please upload a JPEG. You may submit more than one work if you'd like to.
- TEACHER RECOMMENDATION Ask your English or Art teacher to fill out this brief recommendation form. Those forms can be found at the following link.
